All I want for Christmas...

Every year my sister's work has Santa come in so the kids can tell him what they want and get their picture taken with him. Makaylee was so cute and told him what she wanted. She is getting so big. All Mable wanted on the other hand was to get the HECK OUT OF THERE! She will so love this pic when she is older.

Watch Your Step...

So I had a humbling experience last night. I have decided to get serious about running again and have been going to the gym and running on the treadmill. Last night I decided to run on the treadmill in the cinema room. For those who don't know what the cinema room is, it is a very dark room with a ton of treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes. You can work out while watching a movie on a big screen. It is very dark and very loud in there. So... I chose my treadmill that I want to do my work out on and I get on it and it doesn't work. So I hop off and go to the next one. I step on the treadmill and immediately my feet fly out from under me and I land on all fours on the treadmill and then am immediately ejected off onto the floor. I sat there stunned for a minute wondering what the H-E-double hockey sticks just happened. It seems the girl that was on it before me failed to hit the stop button when she was done and seeing how it is pitch black in there, I could not tell that it was still on. I think I about gave the lady next to me a heart attack. She was just as shocked as I was. Luckily I lived and came out of it with minor scrapes on my knees. I just got up, had a good laugh, and worked off my embarrassment and frustration.
So people when you are at the gym... PLEASE turn of the treadmill when you are done using it. And in the future I will now be sure to watch my step before stepping on any excersise equipment. Hope you have a good laugh and a good day!

Halloween...again whats with the carbs?

Our Halloween was really fun this year. We had a week full of fun.
The Monday before Halloween my brother Sean and his wife Carrie had a Halloween party for family home evening. We ate chili and the kids played fun halloween games and decorated cookies.
Tuesday night we went to Matt's parents house and had dinner and carved pumpkins... well Dave, Kenneth, and I carved pumpkins while everyone else sat and cheered us on and talked. The kids played and decorated cookies.
Friday I took Mable to Makaylee's school for her Halloween party which was really fun. I almost started crying during the party because it hit me how appreciative I am that my children have such great people that take such good care of them while Matt and I work.
After the Halloween party I took the girls to visit Daddy at work so his co-workers could see the kids in their costumes and see how cute they are. Then we headed to my sister Carolyn's work to trick or treat around the office and get their pictures taken. Mable had about all she could take and was her usual grump while trying to get her picture taken. So what did I do... I handed her a bag of pretzels. I tell ya, this girl is so like me, carbs make her smile. Here are pictures of our cute girls in their costumes.

On actually Halloween, we went to Matt's parents house and had Chili, bread, cookies, and a lot of Aunt Shauna's yummy carmel popcorn. mmm... I wish I had some right now.
Then we headed out and the kids went trick or treating around the neighborhood. We had a lot of fun. I am really starting to love this holiday. I am really excited for the holidays coming... except the closer they get the closer my 30th birthday gets and I am not sure how I feel about that.

What makes a girl smile...CARBS

I finally went and got the girls pictures taken. I had it all planned in my head. I would get the girls up and dressed and out of the house before Mable got to grumpy and needed a nap. This however did not go as planned. I got the girls up and I couldn't find anything for them to wear. Then Makaylee refused to have her hair done. I swear my kids have the most sensitive heads ever. By the time we left the house it was close to Mable's nap time and I knew this couldn't be good. When we got there, I decided to get a few done of Makaylee first so that Mable could watch her and then hopefully want to do it to. Makaylee did a great job. She loves to pose and have her picture taken.

Then it was Mable's turn. She was not having it. She cried and screamed and laid on the ground and had a fit. So the lady suggested I do some pictures of them together. This went well as long as Makaylee didn't touch Mable. If Makaylee tried to put her arm around her or touch her, Mable would throw a huge fit. But we got a few good ones.

Makaylee was a champ. We would pose Mable and get her smiling and then Makaylee would jump into the picture and pose next to her before Mable noticed she was touching her and start crying.

I still did not have any of Mable by herself. This was the whole point of us getting pictures done that day. So we tried, and we tried, and we tried to get her to sit and smile, but she was not having it. The lady told us to go take a walk around the mall for a little bit and see if we could get her to calm down. I took the girls to the food court. I got some breadsticks thinking that maybe Mable was hungry and needed something to eat. We went back to Kiddie Kandids because Mable seemed happy enough. However, she was happy as long as she had her breadstick. If I tried to take it away from her, she would throw herself on the ground and cry. I had about all I could take for the day so I decided to just take her picture anyway... breadstick and all.

I love my girls!!!

Happy Anniversary - 5 years

Today is our 5th year wedding anniversary. This day means a lot to me. We have had many ups and many downs. We have had many tears and many laughs.

Matt, you are my favorite person in the world. We were meant to be together. No other person could put up with you and no other person could put up with me. I love you so much and am so proud of the man you have become.

Our girls adore and love you to death and it is so fun to see their faces light up when you walk into the room. I am so glad we are a family.

Remember - "When you look ahead at the future and when you look back at the past, remember to look beside you because that is where I will always be." I love you with all my heart and can't wait to see what the future has instore for us. Happy Anniversary!
